WHAT IT IS:

CLASS 2 is suitable for workers who need enhanced visibility in poor weather or when their attention might be diverted by traffic.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Background Material*: 775 in²
• Reflective: 201 in²
• Minimum Reflective Width: 1.38 in | 1 in**

APPLICATIONS:

* Minimum background material requirement for smallest size offered: 540 in²
** For use with split-trim design

WHAT IT IS:

CLASS 3 offers the highest level of visibility for workers in high-speed traffic hazards with additional reflective material on the arms.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Background Material*: 1240 in²
• Reflective: 310 in²
• Minimum Reflective Width: 2 in | 1 in**
• Retroreflective shall fully encircle the torso and each arm

APPLICATIONS:

* Minimum background material requirement for smallest size offered: 1000 in²
** For use with split-trim design

WHAT IT IS:

Enhanced visibility for emergency and incident responders as well as law enforcement personnel in both roadway and off-road environments.

REQUIREMENTS (CLASS 2):

• Background Material: 450 in²
• Reflective: 201 in²
• Minimum Reflective Width: 2 in | 1 in**
• Identification panel and/or trim may be incorporated with specific names and colors

APPLICATIONS:

** For use with split-trim design

WHAT IT IS:

Includes pants, bib overalls, and gaiters designed to be worn with Class 2 or Class 3 clothing to create a Class 3 ensemble that increases the visibility of the lower body.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Background Material: 465 in²
• Reflective: 109 in²
• Minimum Reflective Width: 2 in | 1 in**
• Retroreflective shall fully encircle each leg

APPLICATIONS:

** For use with split-trim design

WHAT IT IS:

A High Visibility standard set by the Canadian Standards Association that includes a mandatory 'X' pattern on the back of the garment to indicate which direction the worker is facing.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Background Material
• Retroreflective material (high visibility tape)
• Minimum coverage for background and retroreflective materials
• Tape placement on garments that minimally includes two vertical stripes on the front, a horizontal stripe encircling the waist, and an X pattern on the back

APPLICATIONS:

The standard has three classes of garments based on the coverage of retroreflective and background fabric incorporated in the garment. It also includes three levels, which are based on the width and performance of the retroreflective trim used in the garment.

WHAT IT IS:

Designed to provide some level of visibility but does not meet the specific requirements of the ANSI/ISEA 107 standard. Suitable for situations where the risk of hazards is lower.
